Founded in 1895, YKK Snap Fasteners America has been making quality closures for more than one hundred years.Our manufacturing center is located in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.
Lawrenceburg also serves as our center for short runs and special orders, as well as R&D. Lawrenceburg also houses our state-of-the-art Field Technical Center, our engineering group, and machine shop.
So, whether you need a high-volume run, or custom design and special logo development; YKK Snap Fasteners America can handle all of your needs.
The Field Technical Center (FTC)
YKK Snap Fasteners America's Field Technical Center was established in 1988 to focus on the challenges that directly relate to our customers -- whether they involve the development of innovative attaching equipment, the management and rebuilding of attaching machines, spare parts needs, or field service work as it relates to application and new product introductions.Engineering
Since 1988, YKK Snap Fasteners America has employed CAD-CAM systems to design and produce the dies and tooling used in manufacturing buttons and snaps with our customers' logos and graphics. This allows us to achieve computer controlled accuracy.
The advent of this technology allows subtantially reduced lead times for samples or production quantities.
We now house more than 5,000 custom graphics and logos.
The YKK connection
In 1987, YKK Snap Fasteners America Fasteners and
YKK, the world's foremost zipper manufacturer, joined forces. The
association has made us an undisputed leader in the closure
marketplace.
Since then, YKK Snap Fasteners America's capacity has doubled and we've undergone expansion.
Now YKK Snap Fasteners America serves not only the United States, but Mexico, the 807 markets and, together with our YKK affiliates, the entire world.
But our partnership with YKK has had other benefits besides global distribution. YKK brought to the field a unique concept called Vertically Integrated Production (V.I.P.), or in essence, self-sustained production.
With V.I.P., everything necessary for the production of the finished product is controlled, and if possible, manufactured internally.
So, through each step of the manufacturing process, YKK Snap Fasteners America is able to control quality, production, and cost.
